During the period of the Republic of China, Sun Yanzhao participated in the collation of local literature in Wenzhou, and collated a large number of literature through collection, collation and writing, which had made great contributions to the protection of rural cultural heritage and the promotion of regional culture. Meanwhile, Sun Yanzhao’s “sense of responsibility” for local culture in the collation of local literature deserves more recognition and study by Wenzhou scholars today.
