“Sweet Potato Economy” in Wenzhou has garnered impressive results. However, there still existproblems such as an imbalance in opening up to the outside world, a business environment that needs to be improved,and an outflow of labor. At the same time, it also faces the challenges of the complex and volatile internationalenvironment. From the analysis in some aspects as Wenzhou’s international trade, investment attraction, technologicalinnovation, business environment and so on, it was found that Wenzhou could absorb high-quality foreign trade entities,expand international trade, and build up the headquarters economy to create a powerful talent pool and move forwardthe upgrading of business environment, so as better to adcance “Sweet Potato Economy”. Consequently, Wenzhouwould sprint to the one of the cities with GDP exceeding 1 trillion and population exceeding ten million and grow intothe third city of high-quality development in Zhejiang Province.
