Abstract:In order to comply with the trend of the New Deal in the late Qing Dynasty, Wenzhou gentry SunYirang founded a large number of new schools, which accelerated the pace of Wenzhou education modernization. Theemergence of those new schools promoted the transformation of educational management system, deeply changededucational methods and teaching methods, and continuously innovated educational content. The rise of civiceducation, and the gradual expansion of education scope had made the initial establishment of the modern educationsystem in Wenzhou. Sun Yirang’s education practice not only promotes the establishment of modern education systemin Wenzhou, but also provides valuable experience and inspiration for today’s education development, that is, balanceddevelopment between the urban and rural education quality is the foundation, improving the quality of education is thekey, setting long-term education goals and overall planning is the guarantee.
