Carrying out vocational undergraduate education is a major measure to highlight the type characteristics and speed up the construction of modern vocational education system. Through the statistical analysis of 26 vocational and technical universities that enroll new students in 2021, it is found that among the 21 private vocational and technical universities, only 6 are full at one time, and there are great differences between provinces and universities. It is mainly affected by multiple factors, such as low social recognition of vocational education and private education, unreasonable enrollment specialty setting, and a series of practical difficulties in the steady development of vocational undergraduate education. We need to strengthen norms and guidance at the national level, strengthen incentives and supervision at the ministerial and provincial levels, strengthen coordination and integration at the school and local levels, continuously improve the quality and attractiveness of vocational undergraduate courses, and build the brand of Vocational and technical universities with Chinese characteristics.
